Due to new evidence that recently surfaced, the MET has decided to prematurely drop the case against RCH.

I know for sure he did things against halacha. No idea about criminal,prison etc but definitely against halacha

ReplyDeleteIt is important to understand the role of the police and the CPS. If you care to read the email from the police on the chscandal blog you will see that the police confirm that they carried out a full investigation and they then passed on the file to the Crown Prosecution Service who decided not to bring any charges.
ReplyDeleteThe police's role is to gather evidence and interview witnesses and suspects while the CPS's role is to decide whether to press charges.
There are 2 considerations for this: 1. whether there is a realistic prospect of a conviction and 2. whether a prosecution is in the public interest. I think we can safely rule out 2 and so we are left with the conclusion that the CPS did not believe a conviction is likely.
Without going into the rights and wrongs of this case, before people bandy about the police they should understand this procedure.
The CPS website says that "When [the police] think they know who did the crime and have enough evidence to prove it, or when they need advice, they show the file to a Prosecutor."
The fact that the police sent the file to the CPS suggests that the police thought that they had something of a case. It was evidently not a strong case as no charges were brought. However,while he may be entirely innocent not being charged is still not the same as being cleared.
I borrowed this comment from our cousins on the conspiracy blog. I think it is the best comment on this whole sorry saga.
ReplyDeleteYour comments show how little you know R' Chaim. Had he really been innocent, there is no way he would have capitulated to the GD Rabonim and resigned all his public positions. He would have come out fighting like a lion. The police investigation has nothing to do with fitness to be a Rov and only dealt with the UK legal situation.

Has denied every comment I have sent to be published because they are not pro RCH. I hope you have the open mindness to publish my comment.
1. RCH admitted cried before the Rabbonim and he admitted that he "crossed a red line" (quote - btw everything is very well and safely documented)
2. RCH agreed and wrote in his own handwriting that he is mekabel not to see women anymore. On a second paper he wrote that he will no longer hold any public positions.
3. Because he has this blinded support he is not able to get down from the tree. The idiots around him, think they are helping him. In honesty they are ruining him.
4. If the police dropped charges it means he isn't a criminal according to the law...but it DOESN'T MEAN HE IS FIT TO BE A ROV!!!
